A Day in Prague:
My Unforgettable Photo Trip

Surprised by the beauty

A day in Prague: My Unforgettable Photo Journey During my trip through the Balkans, I also visited beautiful Prague. What was originally planned as a stopover quickly turned into an unforgettable experience. I couldn’t resist grabbing my camera and capturing the beauty of this city. With its rich history and stunning architecture, Prague has touched me deeply. It is no surprise that I am determined to return soon and take more time to photograph this city in all its glory.

Why Prague is the perfect destination for photographers

Prague is a city that is not only a feast for the eyes, but also a source of inspiration for any photographer. The combination of medieval charm and modern influences makes it a unique place. Here are some of the highlights I discovered during my short stay that I would like to share with you.

Prague Castle

Start your adventure at Prague Castle, one of the largest castles in the world. The complex is a must see with its impressive architecture and breathtaking views of the city. As I strolled through the streets, I was immediately enchanted by the ancient walls and beautiful churches. Don’t forget to take pictures of St. Vitus Cathedral; the Gothic details are truly a sight to behold.
Tips for photographing Prague Castle
Choose an early morning or late afternoon time for the best light.
Try different angles and compositions to capture the grandeur of the castle.
Bring a tripod for long exposures, especially at night.

The Charles Bridge

After the castle, a visit to the Charles Bridge is a must. This iconic bridge, decorated with statues of saints, offers a beautiful view of the Vltava River and the city. As I walked across the bridge, I could almost feel the magic of Prague. The atmosphere was lively, with street performers and musicians making the whole experience even more special.

Photography tips for Charles Bridge:
Visit the bridge early in the morning to avoid the crowds and capture the rising sun. Experiment with slow shutter speeds to capture the movement of people and water. Take advantage of the beautiful details of the statues along the bridge.

The Old Town Square

The Old Town Square is the beating heart of Prague. Here you will find the Astronomical Clock and the impressive Tyn Church. During my visit I was impressed by the lively atmosphere; tourists, locals and street vendors create a vibrant ambiance. This square is perfect for both architectural and street photography.

The Jewish Quarter

The Jewish Quarter, or Josefov, is another unique location that you must visit. This neighborhood has a rich and sometimes poignant history.
The synagogues and the old Jewish cemetery tell stories from the past that you don’t want to miss. The architecture is truly beautiful and offers a wealth of opportunities for photography.

My conclusion

Prague is not just a destination, it is a must-see experience. The beauty and history of the city has stolen my heart and I cannot wait to return. My short visit left me with so many precious memories and beautiful photographs that I encourage you to put Prague on your bucket list. Whether you are a photographer or simply a lover of beautiful cities, Prague is sure to enchant you. “Prague is not just a city, it is a feeling, a memory that you take with you in your heart”.
